Thai Union Helping Hand to Flood-Affected Communities in Northern and Northeastern Thailand

The private sector and government agencies recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in support of the Government’s public-private collaboration policy (previously referred to as the civil state policy) on the initiative to mobilize modern agricultural development in the aquatic animal group.

Pathum Thani – September 19, 2024 – Thai Union Group PCL, the world’s seafood leader, has stepped up to support communities devastated by recent floods in northern and northeastern Thailand. Through its “Thai Union Cares for Flood Victims” initiative, the company donated essential supplies and food items to those in need, distributing them through the Buaphet Rescue Association in Pathum Thani province.

“At Thai Union, we deeply care about our communities and recognize the importance of stepping up during times of crisis,” said Mr. Thiraphong Chansiri, CEO of Thai Union Group PCL. “We are committed to providing immediate relief to flood victims in the northern and northeastern regions by donating nutritious food items such as SEALECT tuna, Tuna spread with Crackers and essential supplies. By collaborating with government agencies, private sector organizations, and volunteers, we aim to alleviate the suffering and provide hope to those affected by these devastating floods.”

To support the relief efforts, Thai Union donated 15,000 cans of SEALECT tuna, 9,600 cans of SEALECT Canned Tuna Chilli Paste, 2,400 boxes of SEALECT Tuna Spread with Crackers, 7,200 boxes of soy milk, and 7,735 ready-to-eat meals through the Buaphet Rescue Association. A 30,000 baht fuel voucher was also provided to support volunteer rescue teams. Ms. Punjaporn Koosamarth, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Communications, and Ms. Wisaka Chantakij, Department Manager of Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility, along with Thai Union team, were on hand to deliver the supplies and assist in packing 1,200 relief packages at the Buaphet Rescue Association in Pathum Thani province.
