5 JUNE 2018, SAMUT SAKHON, THAILAND – Local students from Luangpat Kosoluptum School had an opportunity learn about and partake in conservation efforts on World Environmental Day during a field trip organized by Thai Union Group PCL at the Mangrove Forest Natural Education Center in Samut Sakhon.
The students received a lesson on the many benefits mangrove forests have for the planet, as well as how to clean up and mitigate marine pollution. Children also waded into the mud to plant mangrove trees and collect litter along the coastline in oxo-biodegradable bags. At the end of the day, students gathered 107 kilograms of rubbish.
